IIT Delhi Student Chapters of OSA and SPIE are back, organizing the thirteenth webinar of the series. This time, we have invited Dr. Omar López-Cruz for a talk on the topic “Black Holes Everywhere”.

About the Speaker

Dr. Omar López-Cruz got his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. He has been associated with INAOE since 1988. Has been a Visiting Scientist to the Carnegie Observatories (Fulbright Scholar), Caltech, IATE in Argentina, and Bristol University. In 2015-2016 he was appointed the Oliver L. Benediktson Endowed Chair of Astrophysics at the University of North Dakota. He is interested in the popularization of Science using every media as his disposal, including radio, newspapers, etc. He is currently the Scientific director of a book collection called the Citizen’s Scientific Library, where the works of distinguished scientists have been translated into Spanish.
